Cheated wife Cheryl Cole appeared on a Norwegian television show this week to promote her latest album 'Three Words'. When she was asked about her failed marriage to footballer Ashley Cole, Cheryl replied: "I am focusing on my career. That's what I love the most". The 26-year-old made the stern statement after first trying to avoid answering the question altogether. When asked on the TV show about her status in the UK as one of the country's most important women, she replied: "I am honoured that my country thinks that and is proud of me". And the country thinks she's important because?????
Other than looks and money, what is it about Cheryl Cole that the media finds so obsessively fascinating? If she didn't look a certain way, she would not be inundated with offers to appear on our TV screens and in commercials. Meeting the 'male gaze' and being cheated on by a black man has people thinking she's some sort of UK national treasure. If Cheryl wasn't ridiculously attractive, the British media would not be treating the failure of her marriage as one big scandal. Men cheat on their wives every single day (every second even).
I'm sorry she had her heart broken, but many people go through the same thing on a daily basis. I can't feel too bad for Cheryl knowing she can easily move on with ANY man she chooses (probably with MY man too without even trying, poof!). However, unless Ms Cole is actually doing something to impact the world, I really can't say I give a f*ck.
